Georgia Gonder
The first thing you’ll notice about Georgia is her big smile and even bigger laugh. Georgia loves to have a good time, and one of her favorite things to do is to travel and to meet new people. Her ability to learn about and adapt to foreign cultures and different styles of living is just one of the things that sets her apart. Georgia is fluent in Spanish and has visited a number of countries in Central and South America as well as the Caribbean. Georgia has a tendency to get lost in big cities, but she doesn’t mind—not only does losing her way enable her to stumble upon vibrant music scenes, ice cream vendors and famous landmarks she might otherwise have missed, but it also allows her to spend more time walking, in her opinion as valuable a way to spend her time as any.
A people person, PR is the name of her game. She worked as a PR Intern of University Hospitals for the University of Missouri in 2010 and as a Financial PR Intern for Brunswick Group in Dallas this past summer. Her background in Spanish has helped her tremendously in gaining experience as a Social Media Coordinator for L.I.F.E. Argentina and in countless other ways throughout her journeys. While expanding her view of the world, Georgia has found time to volunteer as a Classroom Assistant in Ecuador, a Spanish Tutor here at Mizzou and a Volunteer Coordinator for L.I.F.E. Argentina.
After she’s done helping people, she’ll probably pick up a few stray cats on her way home and encourage you to do the same. Georgia loves cats and it’s not surprising to spot her wearing a cat t-shirt, carrying a purse with a cat’s face on it and showing people pictures of cute cats she found on the Internet.
