Marissa Cuconato

Copywriter

There are few things in the world that Marissa Cuconato loves more than eating. She hasn’t truly experienced a city until she’s tasted a wide variety of its cuisines. Marissa grew up in an Italian family that happily spoiled her with the gift of fabulous dinners every night. When she gets hungry, you’ll know because her mood changes almost instantaneously. Don’t worry, though. Just find her a snack, and she’ll be right as rain in no time.

Marissa is an ‘80s pop and rock ballad lover. Basically any song with a synthesizer, a saxophone or a singer similar to Eddie Money gets her musical juices flowing. She has a reputation among her friends for coming up with “what if” scenarios and for taking every joke way too far—past the point at which it is even remotely funny.

With a second major in art, Marissa has always been a wannabe Michelangelo. As a toddler she would decorate the bathtub walls with her “masterpieces” using washable crayons, and now with some classical training and a smidgeon of talent, Marissa has decided to incorporate her creativity into a future career.

Combining her love of food and her passion for design, last year Marissa worked as the Graphic Design Intern for The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri. This past summer she worked for Columbia Home and Lifestyle Magazine as an Art Director Intern, creating spec ads for several of their clients. Now as a Copywriter for MOJO Ad this semester, she has the chance to embrace her creativity in the form of writing.

Finally, late at night after all normal human beings have entered their R.E.M. cycles, Marissa relaxes with a crossword or watches episode after episode of her guilty pleasure, Everybody Loves Raymond.
