Mojo Ad and The Missouri Method

Since it was founded in 1908, the Missouri School of Journalism has set the standard for journalism and strategic communication training. Early on, the school developed an educational program that combines the teachings of the classroom with hands-on practice with the university’s professional media. It’s called the Missouri Method. And it works!

The school has turned out some of the most outstanding communicators in the industry. The Missouri Method, with its philosophy of learning by doing, has been the foundation for five of the school’s six areas of study or "sequences." In each sequence, students work under the supervision of faculty members who are communications professionals with significant industry experience.

While all Strat Comm students put the Missouri Method into practice through a campaigns class, in 2005 we established a student-staffed agency that would take the experience to a whole new level.

It’s called MOJO Ad.

We specialize in the Youth and Young Adult market (YAYAs) and because we are the target we are uniquely suited to bring our clients insights and programs that will resonate and move businesses.

Since its founding, Mojo Ad has brought the YAYA perspective to a host of national clients including Hallmark, YUM Brands!, Purina ProPlan, HowStuffWorks.com (Discovery Communications) Owens-Illinois and AOL.
