If you happen to pass Margaret Duffy in the hallowed halls of the Missouri School of Journalism, she will most likely be smiling.  A friendly leader, Duffy is currently the Missouri School of Journalism Strategic Communication Department Chair.  She is also a knowledgeable Associate Professor.  Duffy attributes her gregarious personality to her years spent living abroad, as she was kidnapped by gypsies at a young age and, therefore, lived her formative years in several exotic locales.  Before finding her way to Missouri in 2001, Duffy landed in Clarksville, Tennessee, teaching courses in organizational communication, marketing communication, consumer behavior, public relations, advertising, integrated marketing communication and media business management at Austin Peay State University.  She also pioneered the Austin Peay’s Institute for Corporate Communication.  Other than that, she has dabbled in executive training, marketing, advertising, and even some PR for Verizon, formerly GTE Corporation.  Duffy has a Ph.D. in Mass Communication with an emphasis in organizational behavior from the University of Iowa.  Although her recent past is professional, her favorite interest remains perusing her scrapbook of adventures from her nomadic younger years.
