Sarah Almahmoud

Social Media Strategist

Bringing a bit of international flair to the #Sharp team is Sarah Almahmoud. Sprechen sie Deutsch? Parlez-vous francais? Speak English? Sarah does all three (even throwing in a bit of Arabic for good measure).

Hailing from Neersen, Germany, Sarah’s worldliness comes from more than just the languages she speaks. She loves to travel, having checked France, Belgium, Switzerland, England, Spain, China, Tunisia and Lebanon (among others) off her list of places to visit.

Learning about the MU School of Journalism through a Google search, Sarah sees Mizzou as another one of many adventures to experience. But just experiencing things isn’t good enough for Sarah. Whether it’s designing clothes, cooking food or coming up with ad campaigns, she’s just as much a producer as she is a consumer.

As #Sharp’s social media coordinator, it’s safe to say Sarah knows her way around a hashtag. In fact, she created and oversaw the MU Career Center’s Twitter account when she worked as their career specialist and marketing coordinator. She also works as the marketing coordinator of MU’s International Students’ Career Services doing everything from supervising a marketing team to designing flyers, handouts and plasma screen ads.

As if that wasn’t enough, Sarah has interned for both Novell GmbH out of Düsseldorf, Germany and worked virtually for Intern Queen, Inc. Last year, she participated in a study abroad program in China where she wrote and published articles on the 2010 China Open. She also served as publicity coordinator for the Missouri International Student Council and co-coordinated a Pray for Japan 2011 fundraiser.

Better not blink or she’ll be halfway around the world…again.
