Hannah Jones
If you’ve ever been to Six Flags and seen a young girl sporting four-inch stuffed tennis shoes to meet the height requirement, it might have been pre-growth spurt Hannah, team Maven’s daredevil Account Planner. She’s a thrill addict who loves to hike, bike, run and swim. While abroad last summer, Hannah took her obsession to Switzerland, one of the world’s extreme sports capitols. While there, she bungee jumped 500 feet out of a gondola and went “canyoning,” a cross between rock climbing and an obstacle course of swimming, rafting and sliding down mountain faces.
When she’s not risking her life for the sake of adrenaline, Hannah is determined to make a difference in others’ lives. As a former Peer Advisor in Excellence Hall, she maintained a fun, interactive community for her residents that fostered their academic achievement and personal growth. Hannah has also participated in the Civics Leaders Internship Program at Granny’s House, a local nonprofit, where she worked with underprivileged youth, many of who were recent immigrants from Africa. When she’s not busy molding minds and touching hearts, Hannah is also an active member of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity, an intern at Thumper Entertainment, and a Journalism Ambassador for the Journalism School.
With 32 members in her extended family, it’s no wonder that Hannah’s favorite time of the year is the holidays. It’s then that her family home is sure to be full of fun and the wonderful food made by her mother. In fact, Hannah hopes to one day emulate her mother’s cooking talent.
