Alex Prestel
When attempting to describe Alex Prestel, the first word that comes to mind is “creative.” But one word alone cannot do her justice. Alex is a multi-talented, inspiring and devoted human being. Although, when it comes to her love for the Indiana Pacers, “devoted” is putting it lightly. (To put her fandom into perspective, she named her dog Reggie Miller.) Alex is an avid Wired reader, concertgoer and enchilada enthusiast. Her fridge is always stocked with a never-ending supply of Crystal Light peach tea ready to quench her thirst after she’s heaped copious amounts of spicy Mexican food onto her plate. Her one weakness (if you can count this as one) is Milk Duds. One look at the little, yellow box will give her a frenzied, mouth-watering craving for their chewy, chocolaty goodness.
Alex is also addicted to all things Adobe. With a second major in Graphic Design, she could spend 10 hours in front of a computer screen and not even realize it. When she is not on her Mac—which she has named Gilmore—you can find her at the Ragtag Cinema watching an indie film and sipping a vanilla latte.
Alex has always wanted to go to the East Coast, and two summers ago she finally made it there through her internship with Boston Magazine in their art department. This past summer, she interned in the creative department at Intouch Solutions, a pharmaceutical marketing agency in Kansas City. Although Alex is truly devoted to Indiana, don’t doubt her loyalty to Missouri for a second. As she puts it, she bleeds black and gold. On campus, she has been involved with the Rockin’ Against Multiple Sclerosis (RAMS) philanthropy for the past two years and is returning this year as one of the Tri-Directors.
